Here are a few facts:

Did you know that statin drugs (cholesterol lowering drugs) have devastating side effects? Here are just a few of them!

Lipitor, Crestor and other Statin side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using Lipitor and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

• muscle pain, rhabdomyolosis,  tenderness, or weakness with fever or flu symptoms; or

• nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Less serious Lipitor side effects may include:

• mild nausea or stomach pain, stomach upset, heartburn;

• constipation, bloating, gas;

• stuffy nose;

• itching, skin rash; or

• headache.

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about any side effects you are experiencing and get off the drugs. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088, so they will know the truth about the drug they know already.

The latest research released about statin drugs which is very scarey, is that, it is now known that the half-life (the amount of time it takes for the body to get rid of the drug.) of the drugs are over 10 years. And that's just an estimate. Which means, cholesterol medication remains in the fat connected to various organs in your body and just keeps damaging the body.  Further, kindly know that Statin Drugs DO NOT, I Say AGAIN, DO NOT lower the risk of getting a heart attack.  Oh, I forgot, they do, by 1%, which is virtually ZIP, NADA or NOTHING! Most MD's don't even know this and will not acknowledge the truth about this becuase, if you think this through, being on cholesterol medications is just plain bad for your body. The key to keeping your cholesterol in normal range has to do about simply eating correctly. Ask your MD to teach you how to do that instead. The reason why he or she won't is that most don't know what to tell you, they won't then have an insurance reimbursable reason to see you again and then they won't get any perks or gifts from the pharmaceutical and drug companies who make statin drugs!
